You will find no obituary for our founding director, Sir Rodney Hartwell, in this blog, nor was there one in the last issue of The Augustan Omnibus (#117). The reason for this is that Sir Rodney was such a complex man and so diverse in his interests and activities that there may be no one who knew him in all his aspects (and if there be one such, it surely is not one of us). Thus we plan to devote a special issue of The Augustan Omnibus to his memory, and to fill it with testimony from as many who knew him as possible. That issue is now under preparation, so it is now time for those of you who remember Sir Rodney with fondness to put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) and share your favorite memories.
