Queen Gives YouTube the Royal Treatment
12/25/2007
In 1957, Queen Elizabeth began a tradition of making a Royal Christmas Address to the world via television. This week, fifty years later, Her Magesty again makes technology the servant of royalty by opening a "channel" on YouTube, the online video site where Her 2007 Christmas Broadcast may be viewed live.
Presently the "channel" has a dozen and a half programs including a 1923 silent newsreel of the late Queen Mother's wedding, Queen Elizabeth's 1957 Christmas broadcast, and a piece from last year titled, "A Day in the Life of the Prince of Wales."
Much of interest here, especially for students of applied monarchy. Online at: The Royal Channel
