The Octavian SocietyPreviously an independent organization, the Octavian Society is now a part of The Augustan Society. Due to the loss of Octavian Society founder and director, Sir Rodney Hartwell, and the lack of volunteers, the Octavian Society is presently dormant, and memberships are not being accepted. Previously, and perhaps in the future, membership has been separate from membership in the Augustan Society, and membership in the latter group is not a prerequisite. Applicants must must have an interest in ancient and medieval studies. Between the Society's founding in 1981 and 2004, the Octavian Society published the Journal of Ancient & Medieval Studies (JAMS). Unfinished series and articles not yet published will be published in The Augustan Omnibus as part of that journal's program. Back issues of JAMS are all available. |
